WHAT IS LITURGY ALL ABOUT?
We can answer this question with the following short reflection.
“Lift up your heart to the Lord and sing out your joy to him.”
The church in her life and worship transmits to every generation all what she herself is and what she believes. Liturgy is the public worship of the whole community. Jesus Christ himself is acting in the church, in the priest and in the people. In the community that read and preaches the word of God renders thanks to God in singing and chanting “with exultant and sincere hearts” and celebrates the legacy of the Lord, Jesus Christ is present. The reason why sacraments have their place in the liturgical celebration of the community is that the Church in Jesus Christ is the universal sacrament of salvation.
